About EMS (Self-Paid Duty)
Most orders are shipped via EMS with self-paid duty. Under this method:
- Product prices do not include shipping; shipping fees are calculated separately at checkout
- This helps reduce the duties charged by your local customs
- In the vast majority of regions, customs accept excluding shipping fees from taxable value
- In most regions, customs also accept excluding service fees from taxable value
Order to Shipment Process
Because the number of customers placing orders far exceeds the daily pickup capacity of our local and nearby post offices, orders cannot be shipped immediately after payment. You will need to wait in queue. The general process is as follows:
- Wait in queue for processing — there is a backlog of orders placed earlier that have not yet been reviewed
- Stock confirmation — when your order is reached, all items are checked for availability
- In-stock items ship immediately — if all items are available, they ship directly
- Out-of-stock items require ordering from JT — if some items are out of stock, we place an order with Japan Tobacco and wait for delivery. This is especially common for popular loose tobacco, where hundreds of orders may be waiting for new stock. Japan Tobacco delivers 2-3 times per week, but supply is frequently insufficient and actual deliveries often fall short of ordered quantities
📦 Orders are generally shipped within 7 days after ordering from Japan Tobacco (excluding Japanese public holidays).
Important Notes
⚠️ The ability to add a product to your cart means we are willing to accept the order — it does not guarantee in-store availability.
- Once your order is reached for processing, if Japan Tobacco can supply within the next 7 days, it is not considered out of stock.
- Out-of-stock orders qualify for a full refund, so we do not reserve other items in an order for an out-of-stock item.
- Orders with many high-demand items may experience repeated out-of-stock situations.
- All items in the same order must wait to be shipped together. We do not split orders, and do not accept adding or removing items from an existing order.
💡 Regarding follow-ups: Urging does not help — we cannot source stock faster because of follow-ups, and we cannot skip ahead of the queue for anyone. If you are truly in a rush, the only proactive step we can take is to issue you a refund and decline future orders from you.
